Download the earthquake dataset from USGS and identify its distribution

A global dataset for earthquakes has been made globally available by USGS. Here are the steps to download the dataset and display it based on your necessity.

1. Open https://earthquake.usgs.gov/ and click “Search Earthquake Catalogue”

2. Fill in the tab query based on your needs

In this example, I just chose every earthquake that are more than 2.5 magnitude in the past 7 days in the world.

3. List of the earthquake will be displayed and click download

4. Choose the data format, choose the format that you’re convenient with

In this instance, I am downloading it as CSV. After the file is downloaded, open the file and understand the content of the table.
